Cookie policy
Last updated July 2026
This page explains the cookies and similar technologies we use on rinacademy.com, what they do, and how you can control them. Rin Academy Oy (Oulu, Finland) is responsible for this site. For how we handle personal data more generally, see our Privacy policy.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser. Some are needed for the site to work at all; others are optional. Under EU law we may use strictly necessary cookies without asking, but we must get your consent before using any optional ones.
What we use
We keep this short because we use very little. We do not run advertising cookies, and we do not use third-party tracking or analytics that profile you across sites.
| Cookie | Type | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| next-auth.session-token | Strictly necessary | Keeps you signed in to your account. |
| next-auth.csrf-token | Strictly necessary | Protects sign-in forms against cross-site request forgery. |
| ra-role | Strictly necessary | Remembers your role (student, tutor) so you land in the right area after signing in with Google. |
| ra-consent | Strictly necessary | Remembers your cookie choice so we do not ask again. |
| theme (browser storage) | Functional | Remembers whether you chose light or dark mode. |
Analytics and advertising
We currently use none. If we ever add analytics, it will be listed here, it will be off by default, and it will run only after you turn it on in the cookie settings.
Managing your choice
You can change your cookie choice at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer of any page. You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings, though blocking the strictly necessary ones will stop you from signing in.
